At left is a patch for a hole in the knee on a pair of blue jeans.
The patch at first appears to say "I Love Lucy," but in smaller words, between "Love" and "Lucy" it says "my our dog." The patch refers to our family Shiba Inu, Lucy (in the photo to the right).
The patch appears on the left knee of husband Jim's favorite jeans.
Embellishments:
At left is the neck line area of a full-lengtth robe made out of Joe Boxer fabric. The robe involved machine quilting. Below left, is the neck/head area of a hoodie orginally purchased from The Buckle, but embellished by Chris to make it stand out.
"Here Comes the Bride"
At right is a wedding dress, which Chris altered and performed design work to meet the requirements of the client for her wedding in Eugene on May 18, 2007. Not shown are 11 individual flowers that Chris designed and added to the dress.
About the Robe:
Chris's Joe Boxer piggie robe was a labor of love put together over the course of several years. It involved hours of machine stitching around each pig on the fabric. She also designed the pockets, gingham piping, and the style used for the buttons.
The robe was to have been entered in 14th annual World Pork Expo in Iowa, but the event was canceled during the 2001 outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease.
What Can Chris Do For You?
Chris Barlow specializes in fast alterations of blue jeans, keeping original cuffs. This is a technique that many alterations professionals do not do.
She loves to do embellishments.
